Longitudinal melanonychia (LM) is common in patients on cancer therapies, where they present with multiple dark-bands.

LM is also common in African-Americans after 50 y.o.

However, LM may be frightening when it appears in isolation in Caucasians, except for children where LM may, in fact, turn out to be a real headache.

All the problems raised by LM will be discussed.
