Dear friends and colleagues,
I am privileged to welcome you to the 20th IEEE AP/ MTT Israel
Joint Chapter Symposium, taking place in Hertzliya, May 8th, 2006.
Last years’ very successful symposium, with approximately 300
participants from many companies, posed a challenge to organize
an even greater event. This year’s event promises inspiration,
enhanced quality, and a greater number of subjects and speakers
alongside a professional Microwave exhibition.
This year’s program offers a very impressive list of speakers
that includes expert R&D engineers, top scientists and managers.
Up-to-date and fascinating topics will be presented to enrich the
microwave, antenna and wireless communication technology community
with knowledge, ideas, applications and challenges.
New this year! A new session - the “RF Photonics”, is joining
the very popular and well established Microwaves and Antennas program.
This session is organized and sponsored by the MOD/MAFAT (DDR&D)
and is rich with new developments and innovations.
The symposium includes five sessions:
• Opening (plenary)
• Microwaves, Antennas, RF Photonics and Posters (simultaneously).
Keynote speaker, Dr. James Rautio, an IEEE distinguished lecturer
(2005/6) will be speaking on the topic of the life of Maxwell and
his legacy.
Dr. Rautio is the founder (1983) and the president of a microwave
software company that was listed in 1995 on the Inc. 500 list of
the fastest growing privately held US companies, the first microwave
software company ever to be so listed.
Dr. Rautio was elected a fellow of the IEEE in 2000, received the
IEEE MTT Microwave Application Award in 2001 and is an adjunct
professor at Syracuse University.
The Microwaves, Antennas, RF Photonics and Poster sessions, held
simultaneously, will offer over thirty additional speakers and
topics.
The Poster Session will allow students to present their projects
done in conjunction with academic and industry supervisors.
The exhibition will be organized alongside the symposium halls.
Companies and agencies will present CAD tools, test equipment,
RF, MW and MMW components and modules for electronic systems applications.
I wish to thank the authors and all the people and organizations
that have supported our work.
Special thanks to Agilent Technologies, the Symposium main Sponsor,
EYAL Microwave, the Microwaves Session Sponsor, MOD/MAFAT, the
RF Photonics Session Sponsor and ORBIT/FR, the Antennas Session
Sponsor for their support and generous sponsorship.
As our past year tradition, this Symposium will be a valuable,
enriching and fun event and a social opportunity to meet and socialize
with colleagues.
