Proceed to a visit to the Natural Park Of Bertiz more than 2.000 hectares of beech trees, oaks and chestnuts. The monuments to visit are the Church of Santa María (XII century), with one of the most important Romanesque style façades in Spain, and the Palace of the Principe de Viana, residence of the kings of Navarra (XII - XIII century). Lunch break and visit of the Basilica and Parroquia (Chapel) of Castillo de Javier, where San Francisco Javier was born in 1506. Outside the city walls, we will visit the Marina neighbourhood, with its typical fishing houses painted in green and red. Lunch break and visit to San Sebastian by the sea. This town was destroyed many times during various wars and completely rebuilt at the beginning of the IXX century. Later on, the town walls were demolished, and in the early XX century the town developed as a famous holiday resort. Departing Pamplona for a visit to Bilbao old and new parts as well as the famous Guggenheim Museum. Bilbao was founded on 1300, as a privilege from the Lord of Bizkaia. The Pilgrims’ Road has a strong influence on its development, being also the way to get the coast from Castilla. During XV and XVI centuries Bilbao was an important commercial center for iron and ship makers. On the XIX century Bilbao was expanded and new buildings (the new town hall and the Theatre Arriaga, inspired by the Opera Garnier from Paris) were constructed by well-known architects such as Frank O’Ghery, Norman Foster and Calatrava. On the XXI century Bilbao is going to be one of the most important and biggest cities in Spain due to its developed industry.
