The
Organizing Committee has appointed Ortra Ltd., a registered travel agent,
as the official Organizer and Travel Agent for the Symposium. Please note
that payment for registration and accommodation must be made directly to
the Symposium Secretariat. Rooms have been reserved at the Sharon Hotel in
Herzliya in three categories of rooms at a special reduced rate. Double
and single occupancy rooms will be available. All guestrooms are fully
air-conditioned and include remote Control color television and
international direct-dial telephones. Ortra Ltd. will offer pre-and
post-Symposium tours. Participants will be invited to make additional
reservations for tourist services in Israel as desired, such as hotel
extensions, regular tours, private car tours, car rentals, touring in
limousines with driver/guide, desert trips, Jordan tours, etc.

Aviv (or similar), for overnight. |

Drive from Tel Aviv to Allenby Bridge, after
border crossing procedures enter Jordan. Drive to Madaba to see
the ancient mosaic map of the Holyland and ruins of historical
sites. Continue about 10 km, to Mount Nebo, from where Moses
viewed the promised land. From there you will see the Jordan
Valley, Jericho and the Dead Sea. Visit the remains of a Byzantine
church with a mosaic floor, then drive to Amman, the capital city
of Jordan - a short orientation tour viewing the various
landmarks of the city and drive to first class hotel in Amman for
overnight. |

Monday,
September 11, 2000 |
After
an early breakfast, leave the hotel and travel south on the road
to Wadi Musa. Then on horseback to the “siq” (canyon) and then
on foot to Petra, also known as “Sela Adom” or “Red Rock
City”, the ancient capital of the Nabateans from 3rd
century bc to 2nd century ad. Visit the most
interesting carved monuments, such as the Treasury, El Khazneh (a
tomb of a Nabatean King), the field of tombs, obelisks, the altar
(Al Madhbah). From this point you can view the whole of the Rock
City, then back to Wadi Musa Village and drive back to Amman for
Dinner and overnight. |

After
breakfast leave the hotel and proceed to Jerash - city of the
Decapolis, located about 45 km north of Amman in the fertile
heights of the Gilad, visit the ancient Roman city with colonnaded
streets, the baths and the hill top temple etc. Then drive to the
border and back to Herzliya, for overnight at The Sharon hotel. |

TOURIST
SERVICES CANCELLATION POLICY
In case of cancellation, payments will be refunded in full, except for $80
cancellation fee plus bank charges, if notification reaches Ortra Ltd. by
August 10, 2000. Afterwards a $100 cancellation fee plus one night hotel
charge and bank charges will be retained.
