WELCOME
The IUPS Commission on Thermal Physiology decided in its meeting in 1999 in Seville, Spain, that future meetings on Thermal Physiology (initiated in 1968) will be integrated with the Symposia on Pharmacology of Thermoregulation (initiated in 1972). This decision was made as a consequence of the marked changes and advances occurring in biological sciences over the last decades. With the massive research at sub-cellular levels and the penetration of thermal physiology into molecular levels of control mechanisms, the former distinctions in scientific interests have been narrowed. Thus, the proposed synergy ensures promotion of both fields.

SCOPE
To discuss updated issues in temperature control and thermoregulation from the molecular level to the integrative response. Emerging new issues in genomics and proteomics in thermal adaptation, comparative genomics and pharmacogenetics, as well as thermal modeling and applied thermal physiology and pharmacology will be highlighted. The meeting will promote active involvement of all participants in debates and discussions. Specific sessions for graduate/post graduate students will be organized.
