| The International Conference on Industrial
Logistics (ICIL) 2008 will take place on
March 9-15, 2008 in Tel Aviv, Israel. The conference theme is "Logistics
in a Flat World: Strategy, Management and Operations". The conference
will feature a multidisciplinary program, with international speakers
and participants from the field of Industrial Logistics.
The main objectives of ICIL '08 are the presentation of original
research results and contributions to the field of logistics; and
the discussion and exchange of experiences and ideas to further
develop and broaden the applications of this field in the national
and international level.
The mission of ICIL '08 is to provide a forum for researchers
and practitioners to share experiences and insights of the current
state-of-the-art, and to contribute to shaping the future of industrial
logistics.
The conference will be held in conjunction with the 15th Israeli
national conference on Industrial Engineering and Management (IE&M
'08). The IE&M conferences are very popular with both academics
and practitioners and generally attract over 1,000 participants
from Israeli academia and industry. Participants in ICIL '08 will
have a unique opportunity to interact and network not only with
each other, but also with leading Israeli researchers, practitioners
and senior managers.
As usual, a potential field trip is planned to a leading international
Israeli Corporation, possibly the Dead Sea works facilities located
at the Dead Sea at southern Israel.
The planned venue is the David Intercontinental Hotel and the
Dan Hotel in the picturesque and historical city of Tel Aviv – Jaffa.
The hotels overlook the ancient Jaffa Harbor and the "white
city" of Tel Aviv, proclaimed a World Cultural Heritage site
by UNESCO for its special "Bauhaus" architectural style.
The hotel is just a 30 minute drive from Ben-Gurion International
Airport.

Joining us at the conference will also enable you to explore the
Land of Israel, birthplace of the three great monotheistic religions.
The hotel is only an hour drive from Jerusalem, and couple of hours
drive from the Dead Sea and from the Sea of Galilee (all interesting
historical and religious sites that may be visited).
It is our pleasure and privilege to invite you to take part in
ICIL '08 in Israel.
We look forward to a great conference and to welcoming you and
your colleagues to Tel Aviv.
